Tteokbokki / Toppoki 떡볶이 (10 Min)
- 10 bars of tteokbokki rice cake (recommended : KOREAN STICK RICE CAKE 떡볶이떡 BY WANG [Amazon])
- 2 sheet of fish cake
- 1 green onion, sliced
- 2 tablespoons of gochujang (recommended : Chung Jung One O’Food Medium Hot Pepper Paste Gold (Gochujang) [Amazon])
- 1 1/2tablespoons of gochugaru (recommended : Boise Salt Co. Korean Gochugaru Chile Flakes – 4 ounce Re-sealable Pouch [Amazon])
- 3 tablespoons of sugar
- 2 tablespoon of soy sauce
Make seasoning base first by adding 3 spoons of sugar, 2 spoons of gochujang, 2 spoons of soy sauce, and 1 1/2 spoons of gochugaru and mix thoroughly, and put it aside.
Cut tteokbokki rice cake into half.
Cut the fish cake slice into 1/3.
Slice 1 green onion into small pieces.
Pour 2 cups of water into a pot and put fish cake slices and rice cake.
Next, add the seasoning base you made earlier and mix it well with the ingredients.
When it starts to boil, turn the heat down to medium heat for 5 minutes.
Turn the heat down to low heat and boil for 5 more minutes.
The rice cake gets gradually marinated as the amount of water decreases.
If you think it’s almost 95% complete, you can add green onion at the end.
